Tips and tricks on making the best Diamond Dynasty Team in MLB The Show 21. From RTTS to opening packs, this is the best way to improve the lineup.
MLB the show 21 is back for another year and for the first time in franchise history it’s on both PlayStation and Xbox. That means a whole console of new players are set to take a swing at the massively popular baseball series and more than likely diving into one of the biggest modes of the game, Diamond Dynasty. This game mode is The Shows card-collector mode that allows the player to create their own fantasy team of current and older players from all generations of baseball.
Other sports franchises such as Madden and FIFA are notorious for this mode as it generates billions of dollars in sales every year in microtransactions and constant updates with new player cards and challenges throughout the year. Here are some tips to get you started on getting the best Diamond Dynasty team.
Creating The Ultimate Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 21
The first thing to do is complete daily moments. This is one challenge given to the player every day and is usually striking out a certain amount of batters or hitting a certain number of hits with a player. They are usually really easy, not exceeding past the rookie difficulty so far for any of the challenges. Completing these every day with net rewards such as stubs (currency), packs, and eventually players you can level up. The first reward for completing five of these challenges is a 75 overall Jason Giambi who can be leveled up to an 85 diamond overall.
The next thing to do is go through and complete Showdown. In this mode, you draft a team of random players and see how far you can go in a series of challenges before attempting to beat the final showdown boss. As you progress through different challenges, you can upgrade your team to help make that final showdown a lot easier to handle. Try to do every challenge in that showdown before the final boss for the best results. Rewards from this include stubs, experience, and vouchers that can be used to unlock even better players.
Play online! While sports games can be especially brutal to play online, playing casual games that don’t count towards ranked play can be a great way to earn experience and complete challenges that can’t be done in single-player. There’s even more competition now that the game supports cross-play between both PlayStation and Xbox users. Players are still building their teams and trying out different playstyles so now is the perfect time to experiment and try playing others online.
Level up your created player in Road To The Show! The popular mode that allows players to create a player of their choosing will now be available to use in other modes, including Diamond Dynasty. While this player starts out with a low overall, it’s not long before they are being upgraded and can be one of the best early additions to any starting lineup. Road to the show is also the bread-and-butter of MLB The Show so it doesn’t hurt to try it out.
Save those stubs! While it’s always enticing to buy packs with the stubs you’ve earned while playing, those are usually a good way to waste precious currency that isn’t easy to get. Instead of buying packs, check out the marketplace and check out what players are available for a cheaper price. It can be fun trying to get the best players in the game out of a random card pack, but in most cases, it’s better to buy a specific player instead of leaving it up to chance.
At the end of the day, just play the game. MLB The Show 21 allows the player to play any game mode and level up and earn experience and other rewards however they want. Whether your somebody who enjoys RTTS, strictly Diamond Dynasty, or testing skills online against other players, there are always ways to progress and always ways to earn rewards.
MLB The Show 21 is available now on the Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
