Proving that Animal Crossing: New Horizons truly is a game for everyone, one player’s cat adorably engages with the game’s falling blossom petals.
The seasonal cherry blossom trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons have become an unexpected pet favorite, as one real world cat has become completely mesmerized by the falling in game petals. Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, and along with it came a new spring update. This included an amusing whoopee cushion in honor of April Fool’s Day and the return of the picturesque falling cherry blossom petals.
In the twelve months since its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become one of the most treasured and heart-warming games available. It has continually topped sales charts and its merchandise has become some of the most coveted currently out there. The DLC Sanrio card packs swiftly sold out on their release at Target a few weeks ago, as did the Animal Crossing X Build-A-Bear collaboration even more recently. But, it turns out, that it is not just humans who are full of adoration for the peaceful island pace that comes with Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Animals themselves are becoming Animal Crossing fans, as shown by Redditor shyhobbit. Shyhobbit’s cat can be seen in an adorable video pawing playfully at the falling cherry blossom petals on its owner’s TV screen. Given how charming Animal Crossing: New Horizons is already, this is easily is one of the most wholesome videos currently circulating the internet.
Now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has entered its second year, Nintendo will have to keep coming up with new events and updates to keep the game as enticing to its players as it was in 2020. Most major events were covered last year, including Turkey Day and Toy Day. So far, however, it does look as though Nintendo is doing just that. Sales are still strong for the life-simulation game, and the new seasonal items have been well received by players. Nintendo even managed to incorporate one of its other biggest franchises into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with the recent Mario update.
For now, however, one of the biggest Animal Crossing: New Horizons questions on everyone’s lips is “who will be the next villager to receive the Build-A-Bear collaboration treatment?” Shyhobbit’s cat may well wish for its own feline cuddle buddy. Perhaps a little stuffed Raymond to playfully watch the falling blossoms with is just what is needed. Hopefully, Nintendo will not leave its fans in excited suspense for too much longer, and reveal just who the latest character to join the collection this summer will be.
